Indication: Mupirocin is used to treat certain skin infections (such as impetigo). It is an antibiotic. Mupirocin works to kill the bacteria that are causing infection. These include strains of Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes. Mupirocin stops the bacteria from multiplying.
